To distribute HTTP load among Octopus Server nodes with a single point of access, we recommended using an HTTP load balancer.
Azure has a wide range of load balancers that will work with Octopus in a highly-available configuration:
- Azure Traffic Manager
- Azure Application Gateway
- Azure Load Balancer
- Azure Front Door
- Kemp LoadMaster
- F5 Big-IP Virtual Edition
For disaster recovery scenarios, we recommend leveraging a hot/cold configuration. Azure’s recommendation of using Azure Front Door is a great way to achieve this. This method will allow you to easily route traffic to the secondary region in the event of a primary region failure.
